Community Garden

Our community garden is starting to establish itself. We hope kids and adults alike can get some enjoyment from it. Don’t forget to bring the kids down and see if they can identify the different plants and vegetables growing.

Unfortunately there was some damage to one of the planters this week. Please remember they are not designed to be sat upon and please ask children to refrain from walking on the edges to protect the plants.

There’s more to come too so watch this space!

Electric Boxes

It has been noted that some children have been climbing on top of the junction boxes throughout the estate. Some of the surrounding hedging has been damaged from climbing on these.

Although sealed, these boxes are still large electric junctions and should be treated with caution. Stay safe!

Trees and plants

A number of trees in phase 2 are beginning to suffer due to the lack of rain in recent times, as they have not yet established roots. If you see trees wilting or leaves turning brown please remember to water them where possible. Of course the same goes for planters throughout the estate. Please help out where you can.

Dog fouling

As always please remember to pick up after your dog! A number of dogs from other estates have been identified as causing a problem with dog fouling in the estate. We have contacted SDCC to highlight the issue.

Grants

Big news! Dodderbrook Residents Association has been awarded its first grant from SDCC to aid with running the residents association. This will go towards payment of insurance and other running costs but this will allow us extra funding to support planting and upcoming social events…
