Dear Residents,
Thank you to those who took part in our survey.
The response was excellent and we have plans to implement all of the suggested projects.
The results…..
Create a wildflower garden – 33%
Build planters under signs – 29%
Community Garden – 27%
Daffodil planting – 10%
Other – 1%
With these results in mind the committee have begun planning a wildflower garden with a view to expanding this to more areas once successful.
We will shortly begin building planters for under road signs, we aim to keep this uniform throughout the estate and will have the first batch ready for Spring Clean!
The Community Garden is currently in planning and we have some exciting ideas which will will update you on very soon. This is a great way to get everyone involved, we hope you’re as excited about this project as we are.
Daffodil planting will take place later in the year.
We will also undertake other suggestions such as painting railings and gates as part of our clean up days.
We hope you will join in, get involved in these new ideas, community support makes things happen. We are currently looking for volunteers to build some planters(if you’re handy with a saw and a few screws), if you’re interested let us know through the website, by email or on social media.
We have also added a new feature to the website – A suggestion box – have your say anonymously, let us know what you’d like to see, what changes you’d like to see made or anything else you have on your mind.
Kind regards,
Dodderbrook Residents Association

Hi, as daffodils do not have a sufficient amount of nectar they really are not the best as early food for the bees / pollinators. Could you think instead of Crocus, snowdrops, primroses?
Thanks,
Catherine

Hi Catherine,
Great point to note. We’ll certainly consider something more pollinator friendly. We will add to our notes the alternative options. We’re all about making Dodderbrook a pollinator friendly environment!
Thanks for the suggestion
